Filtering

Filters provides a way for users to see only results relevant to their intended search.

3 types of filters exist inside EETS:

  • Category

  • Asset

  • Taxonomy

Asset and Taxonomy filters automatically appear in the SERP when the associative data is supplied with pages through the API.

Category filters also required the same. Additionally, they required an extra step to configure each category to a tab icon, order, and name. This can be done through the EETS Portal or API.

5 Benefits of Filters

  1. Improved search accuracy: Filters can help improve the accuracy of digital search tools by allowing users to narrow down the search results based on specific criteria, such as date, location, or author.

  2. Increased search coverage: Filters can also increase the coverage of digital search tools by enabling users to find more specific and relevant information.

  3. Enhanced user experience: Filters can enhance the user experience by providing a more efficient and streamlined search experience, which can save users time and effort.

  4. Reduced errors: Filters can also reduce errors by helping users to eliminate irrelevant results and focus on the most relevant information.

  5. Better natural language processing: Filters can also help improve the understanding of a search query by allowing users to narrow down the search results based on specific criteria, which can provide more accurate results, especially with natural language queries.

Category Filtering

Category filters are located at the top of the view template, above the returned results, as tabs. Users are able to click on a category filter tab to view only results from that category.
